Vouchers: preset amounts, custom amounts, and experiences

Your catalogue is what your customers see on the storefront and what staff redeem at the till. There are three flavours.

Preset amounts (monetary)

These are quick-buy tiles. If you set £25, £50, and £100, customers see three buttons on the storefront. They click, pay, and get a voucher worth that amount. Vouchers never expire until you set an expiry in the wizard (default 12 months).

Tip: hospitality research suggests 3–4 preset amounts is the sweet spot. More than that, and customers freeze. We recommend £25 / £50 / £100 as a safe default for restaurants.

Custom amounts (monetary, customer-picks)

With a custom-amount range, customers can type any value in your range. Example: set min £10, max £200. A customer can buy a £73 voucher for a friend's birthday. We render a "Custom gift value" tile on the storefront that opens an amount picker.

If you set min and max both to £0, the custom tile is hidden. That's the default for new tenants — turn it on if you want it.

Experiences (fixed packages)

These are fixed-price packages like "Dinner for Two" (£85) or "Spa Day" (£150). The customer pays a known amount up front, and the staff at the till decide the actual value when it's redeemed. This is how vouchers usually work for restaurants.

Set the price to what you would charge for a normal booking. Redeemio hides the actual value on the voucher receipt — staff see it in the till PWA, customers do not.

Expiry

Set once at onboarding. The default is 12 months. UK hospitality law allows at least 24 months for most gift cards and experiences — we recommend 12 or 24 months. Beyond 24, customers may not see the voucher as a valid gift.

How the till sees vouchers

The till PWA at /redeem/till takes a voucher code, looks it up, shows the balance, and applies it to the bill. For Epos Now customers, the same flow happens inside Epos via the Epos Now integration.
