POS and website integrations — research
Which other POS systems, payment platforms, and website builders we could plug into. Epos Now is the only one we've built so far.
Currently supported
- Epos Now — the only POS integration in production. £19/mo on Starter, included on Growth.
- Stripe — payment processor for every transaction. Built in, no extra cost.
- SMSWorks — UK SMS provider for SMS delivery. Built in, included on Growth (1,000/mo).
- Resend — email delivery. Built in, included on every plan.
POS systems to consider (not yet built)
The UK hospitality POS market is fragmented. Below is our research on the main players and what each would take to integrate. Ordered by UK market share, with the integration effort noted.
Lightspeed Restaurant (K-Series) — Tier 1 candidate
Used by mid-market restaurants and bars. Has a public REST API and webhooks. We estimate 2–3 weeks of engineering to build a voucher integration similar to Epos Now. Biggest gap: the API is OAuth-scoped per location, so multi-location flow needs careful token management.
Demand check: how many of our customers are on Lightspeed? TBD. If 3+ customers ask for it, we build it.
Square for Restaurants — Tier 1 candidate
Popular in the US, growing in the UK. Has a comprehensive API with Orders, Payments, and Catalog endpoints. The voucher flow would be similar to Epos Now. ~3 weeks of engineering. Main gap: the catalog/discount API is less flexible than Epos Now, so the "voucher tender line" pattern would need a workaround.
Demand check: TBD. Likely a US-priority feature.
SumUp — Tier 2 candidate
Cheaper-than-Stripe POS + payments. Has a basic POS API, but no native discount / voucher model. Would need to record the voucher redemption separately and apply a manual discount in SumUp. Workable but ugly UX. ~3 weeks of engineering.
Zonal (Zonhl / Zonal) — Tier 2 candidate
UK market leader in leisure and attractions (theme parks, bowling, trampolines). Has a SOAP-based API (older protocol, harder to work with). Integration would take 4–6 weeks and a UK partner agreement with Zonal. We are not actively pursuing this.
Tillpoint — Tier 3 candidate
UK hospitality mid-market. Modern REST API, well documented. ~2 weeks of engineering. Low priority — small customer base relative to Lightspeed.
TouchBistro — Tier 3 candidate
Strong in the US and Canada, growing in the UK. Has an API but voucher-tender support is limited. Likely 3–4 weeks of engineering. Low priority for now.
Website builders and CMS
The Redeemio storefront is hosted by us, but most customers want a "Buy a voucher" button on their main website too. The following platforms support embedded buy buttons via our iframe or JavaScript snippet:
WordPress / WooCommerce — Tier 1 candidate
~40% of small hospitality websites. Embed is a 5-line JavaScript snippet that creates a "Buy voucher" button. ~1 week of engineering, plus documentation. High value, low effort. Build next.
Wix — Tier 2 candidate
Drag-and-drop builder, popular with restaurants. Embed via Wix's HTML iframe component. ~3 days of engineering.
Squarespace — Tier 2 candidate
Same as Wix — HTML embed code block. ~3 days of engineering.
Shopify — Tier 2 candidate
Shopify has its own gift card system, but customers still ask us for voucher experiences. Integration via Shopify's "Buy Button" channel or a custom Shopify app. ~2 weeks of engineering. Could be a standalone app on the Shopify App Store.
How to vote
If you want one of these integrations, email jorge@hotrocketsoftware.co.uk. When 3+ customers request the same integration, it goes to the top of the build queue. We commit to building it within 4 weeks of greenlight.
What we won't build
POS systems with no public API, or where the integration would require ongoing maintenance overhead disproportionate to customer demand. If you need an integration we won't build, we can build a custom one for you on the Enterprise plan.
